Privacy Policy
JB Tool - LAN Scanner
Developer: JB FACTORY
Effective date: October 7, 2026
This policy describes the Android app with package name net.jbfactory.jb_tool_lan_scanner. The app discovers devices within an IPv4 network range selected by you. It displays Google AdMob banner ads and uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for privacy choices. It does not include accounts, scan-data cloud synchronization, a separate analytics SDK, or a developer-operated scan-data collection service.
1. Information used for scanning
The app uses your entered IPv4 address, range, or CIDR, along with Android's network information such as the device's local IP address, network prefix, gateway, and configured DNS servers. Results may show discovered IP addresses, available host names, network roles, a discovery method, response time, and a responding TCP port.
These values are processed for displaying scan results. The app does not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, GPS location, or device passwords. Scan inputs, results, and history are not provided to the advertising SDK.
2. Network communication
When you start a scan or explicitly rerun a history entry, the app sends discovery probes to addresses in the chosen range. Discovery can involve reachability checks and TCP connection attempts to a small set of common ports. It does not read files, sign in to devices, or retrieve device content.
To obtain available host names, Android may send reverse DNS queries to the configured DNS resolver. That resolver may be operated by your router, network administrator, internet provider, or another DNS provider. The target devices and resolver can receive the connection or query information needed for this communication, such as source and destination IP addresses. These requests are not sent to JB FACTORY as a scan report.
Only scan networks you own or have permission to test. Some devices do not respond, and the results are not a complete inventory or a security assessment. The app does not continuously monitor your network in the background.
3. History and retention
Completed, stopped, and failed scans can create a local history record containing the entered range, time, device count, completion status, and discovered IP addresses. History does not retain host names, device roles, response times, or port details. Permission-denied attempts do not create an empty scan record.
History is stored in this app's private storage on your device. It is not automatically imported from or shared with JB Toolbox or any other JB app. Records remain until you delete them individually, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. App-managed backup and device-transfer backup are disabled.
4. Copying and sharing
Copying a device IP places that value on Android's clipboard. If you choose Share, the app provides the scan range and available IP addresses and host names to the app you select. The receiving app processes the shared data under its own policies. No automatic sharing occurs.
5. Permissions
- Internet: enables network discovery, Google AdMob ads, and UMP consent messages.
- Network state: identifies the connected network and its IPv4 range.
- Local network access: requested where required by Android before scanning. You may deny or revoke it in Android settings, which can prevent discovery.
- Advertising ID: the Google Mobile Ads SDK includes this permission for advertising where available, subject to privacy choices and Android settings.
6. Advertising and privacy choices
The app displays advertisements. UMP checks privacy requirements at app launch; the Mobile Ads SDK is initialized only when UMP permits ad requests. When required, the app provides ad privacy choices.
Google may process the device IP address (including approximate location), device or account identifiers such as the advertising ID and app set ID, app/ad interactions, and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention. Processing depends on SDK settings, applicable privacy choices, and Android settings. Advertising-related data is transmitted using TLS. We do not attach scan inputs, results, host names, or history to ad requests.
Google controls its advertising-data retention under its own policies. Deleting local history, clearing app data, or uninstalling does not delete data Google already processed. See Google Privacy Policy and Google Mobile Ads data disclosure. You can also manage or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.
7. External links and support
The privacy policy button opens the public policy in an external browser without attaching scan inputs or results to the URL. The browser and website may process normal web-request information under their own applicable policies. If you contact the developer, information you choose to include is used to respond to your request.
8. Children and policy changes
This network utility is not specifically directed to children. JB FACTORY does not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app. This policy will be updated if the app's functionality or data practices change. Google advertising-related processing is described above. Changes will be reflected in this policy with an updated effective date.
9. Contact
For privacy questions, use the developer contact information on the app's Google Play listing or the contact information provided on JB FACTORY's website.
