Privacy Policy for JB Toolbox

1. Overview

JB FACTORY ("we," "our," or "us") provides the JB Toolbox mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, why it is used, where processing occurs, and the choices available to you.

Most app features operate locally on your device. Some network features communicate with external services, network targets, DNS servers, or devices on your local network as described below. The app may also display advertisements provided by Google AdMob after any required privacy choices have been handled.

2. Information Processed and How It Is Used

My IP Info

When you use My IP Info, the app sends an HTTPS request to ipwho.is. Your public IP address is necessarily visible to that service. The service returns your public IP address, approximate country and city, and internet service provider. The app uses this response only to show the requested network information to you.

JB FACTORY does not operate the ipwho.is service or control its server logs and retention. ipwho.is may process usage data, including IP addresses, under its own privacy policy. JB Toolbox does not request GPS or precise device location for this feature; the displayed location is inferred from the public IP address and may be inaccurate.

Network Diagnostic Tools

Ping, port testing, DNS lookup, and LAN scanning communicate with the host, IP address, domain, DNS server, or local-network device involved in the test. The target address and technical connection data are used to perform the action you request. These network operations are not routed through a server operated by JB FACTORY.

QR and Barcode Scanning

Camera frames and images selected for scanning are processed on the device to detect QR codes and barcodes. JB Toolbox does not upload the image or decoded code content to a JB FACTORY server. A scanned result is stored in the app's local history only when you choose to save it.

The app uses Google ML Kit for barcode recognition. According to Google's SDK disclosure, ML Kit may collect device and application information, per-installation identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, feature event information, and error codes for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google states that this diagnostic data is encrypted in transit and is not transferred to third parties. See Google's ML Kit data disclosure for details.

Hash and Checksum Tool

When you enter text or select a file to calculate a hash or checksum, the app reads that content only on your device. The selected file, entered text, file path, and calculated results are not uploaded to JB FACTORY, added to app history, or stored by this feature. Results leave the app only when you explicitly copy or share them.

Advertising and Privacy Choices

The app uses Google AdMob for advertising. The Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) checks whether a consent message or privacy options are required before the app requests an advertisement. The Mobile Ads SDK is initialized and ads are requested only when the current UMP state permits ad requests.

According to Google's SDK disclosure, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share the device's IP address, user product interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID. Google uses this information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. An IP address may be used to estimate a device's general location. Google states that data collected by the SDK is encrypted in transit. See Google's Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure and Privacy Policy for details.

Depending on your region and privacy choices, Google may serve personalized, non-personalized, or limited ads. Where a privacy-options entry is required, it is available within the app so you can review or change your choices.

Information Stored Locally

The following information may be stored only on your device:

• Ping, port, DNS, and LAN test targets, options, and results;
• favorite tools and saved Ping, port, and DNS targets;
• app settings and locally saved game progress;
• text and contact details used to create non-Wi-Fi QR codes;
• content used to create barcodes; and
• QR or barcode scan results that you explicitly save to history.

Wi-Fi passwords entered to create Wi-Fi QR codes are not saved to history. App backup is disabled, so the app does not use Android cloud backup for its internal data.

3. Permissions and Device Access

• Camera: Used only for live QR code and barcode scanning. Camera access is requested when you use the live scanner.
• Selected files and images: You may choose a file or image through the Android system picker for hash calculation or code scanning. The app accesses only the item you select for that operation.
• Internet and network state: Used for public IP information, Ping, DNS lookup, port testing, connection-status features, consent checks, and loading advertisements.
• Advertising ID: The Google Mobile Ads SDK may access the Android advertising ID when it is available. This is not a runtime permission. You can reset or delete the advertising ID using Android's privacy settings.
• Wi-Fi and local network: Used to display local network information and to find or test devices on your LAN.
• Legacy storage: On Android 9 and earlier, storage access may be used only when you ask the app to save a generated QR or barcode image. Newer Android versions use the system media interface.

You can deny or revoke permissions in Android settings. Features that require a denied permission may not work, but unrelated features remain available.

4. Third-Party Services and Sharing

We do not sell user information. The app uses Google AdMob to provide advertising. Google and its advertising partners may process the advertising and diagnostic information described in Section 2 according to applicable consent choices and their own policies.

The app uses the following external services:

• ipwho.is: Receives a request from your device when you use My IP Info and returns public-IP-based location and ISP information.
• Google ML Kit: Provides on-device barcode recognition and may collect the diagnostic and usage information described in Section 2.
• Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform: Provide the advertisements, advertising measurement, fraud prevention, and region-appropriate consent or privacy-choice forms.

When you choose Android's Share command, the selected text, image, or result is transferred to the app or service you select. Information transferred at your direction is then handled under that recipient's privacy policy. JB FACTORY does not control data after you share it with another app or service.

5. Retention and Deletion

Internal history, favorites, settings, and game progress remain on your device until you remove them through available in-app controls, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. History can be deleted by item, by tool, or in full from the History screen.

Images saved to your gallery and CSV files exported to shared storage are outside the app's internal storage. They may remain after the app is uninstalled and must be deleted using your device's Photos or Files app. Data sent to ipwho.is or processed by Google ML Kit, Google AdMob, or the User Messaging Platform is retained under the respective provider's policies.

6. Security

Requests to ipwho.is use HTTPS. JB Toolbox disables cleartext HTTP for app-managed web requests and disables Android cloud backup for internal app data. No method of electronic processing or transmission is completely secure, and network diagnostic tools necessarily interact with the network targets selected by the user.

7. Your Choices

• Do not use My IP Info if you do not want your IP address sent to ipwho.is.
• Use image-based scanning instead of granting camera permission.
• Choose whether to save a scanned result to local history.
• Delete local history and favorites using the app's controls.
• Open the in-app ad privacy choices when that option is required and available.
• Reset or delete the Android advertising ID in your device's privacy settings.
• Review content before sharing it with another app.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features, data practices, third-party services, or legal requirements change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date.
